I took a 3 week hiatus from land sales to spend time updating the 3D Lighting product line. Since most of the products have been updated I’m turning my attention back to the virtual land business.

Times are Changing
It seems there has been a few chances! Huge changes. For starters, all if not most of my old Plot Pals friends seem to have dropped entirely out of the land business. Unless they have changed to alts that I’m not aware of, I haven’t crossed paths with any of them.  Another change is the amount of new land baron wannabes, some who haven’t even spent the time to change out of their newbie skins and clothes! I was even approached by a newbie today who asked if I would sell my property for the underrated price of 1512! While the estates were listed in the Land Sales tab prior to my hiatus,  now there seems to be way more of them listed and less mainland. I’m sure it’s my eyes deceiving me. Secondlife’s economical data states that the average price of mainland has declined since August. Is there anyone else having the same hard time finding good deals at 5.7 and below?

First Land News
Linden Labs opened up three new mature First Land sims this week. Jirasan and Paektu were brought online on Sunday while Kuwol made its way on the listings on Wednesday. If I’m not mistaken this is the first time in over 3 weeks that new first land sims have opened. The demand for first land seems to be at an alltime high. Each sim is near capacity except in areas within the sims that Linden hasn’t released. This seems to be a new trend for Linden. Previously when a first land sim was brought online the entire sim was cut into 512 pieces and placed on the listing. The new sims each have five 4096sqm chunks left unclaimed.  I wonder if Linden will eventually release these as first land… or is it possible that these mysterious plots will find their way on the auction listings?

 Random Thoughts

Congrats to Guy Linden for the promotion to Land Guru.

More Auctions, YAY! Who outbid me on that terraformable plot?!

I still hate banlines.

Have any of these “Freebie Warehouses” considered setting up outpost vendors in first land sims?

This is kind of land related: I was customizing a lighting product for a new customer on their estate land. When suddenly the items I was working on vanished. Another reason I dislike estates: Estate owners have the ability to purge prims at a whims notice.

Second Life Blog

September 19, 2006

Greetings from the inside of Second Life. My name is Wrestling Hulka, I’m a controversial land owner and business person who lives and works fulltime inside Second Life. For those who don’t know Second Life is an online ‘3D Virtual World” that has a fledgling in-world economy. The tagline for Second Life is “Your World. Your Imagination,” which pretty much gives Second Life’s residents full editorial rights to how they conduct themselves. You are free to build your own environment.

I’m the owner of 3D Lighting which offers cheap alternatives in club lighting and supplies. Yes, I said clubs as in Night Clubs. There are thousands of such establishments inside of Second Life where people dance to music and chat with fellow residents. My club lights are probably inside half of these clubs.

I’m also the owner of my own Second Life land business called, Second Hand Land. Second Life allows users to buy and own their own virtual property. I purchased a significant amount of land tier and I am able to buy and sell land on the open market.

I hope to use this blog to discuss about Second Life and respond to the official Second Life Blog.
